Description

Once upon a time, there was a time when Seth MacFarlane didn't fill most of the animation blocks on Fox network and that there was a special segment of the network called "Fox Kids." Whether made for adults/teens or kids, Fox had really good animated shows. One of them was in it's prime, called "The Simpsons" which features a tall blue-haired matriarach who managed to charm the hearts of millions of viewers. Another was an anime which was Pokemon with character development, this was called "Digimon: Digital Monsters" which features a tall blue-haired awkward boy who managed to charm the hearts of viewers as they grew up and rewatched the show due to his sense of responsibilty.
Okay this is Marge Simpson and Joe Kido dressed as two main characters [link] from the 1960s show "The Avengers" [link] and as you can see Maggie Simpson and Gomamon are bonding (imagine the adventures they go on).
Okay, pretty much Marge and Joe get eclipsed by flashier characters from their shows while they are the kind of people we'd like around us in real-life. Marge Simpson shows an admirable amount of strength and will, enough to write to First Lady Barbara Bush about comments she made about the show [link] and a few viewers recognize her for something other than her beauty (good on broadening our narrow view of beauty though Marge), she is strong-willed and nurturing. Speaking of parental qualities, as digimon fans grew older, they recognized the paternal qualities of Joe and appreciated him even more for his reliable personality [link] and that he isn't too much of a scaredy-cat if he can throw his body if it meant protecting the younger kids [link]
Here ends my dedication to the intelligent, cool haired, dorky main characters of Fox Animation.
